RODEO & ANIMAL WELFARE

How are the rodeo animals cared for?

The health and well-being of every animal involved in the Extreme Rodeo is a top priority. Livestock are cared for by experienced stock contractors and handlers who provide proper feed, water, rest, and attention throughout the event.

What measures are taken to protect animal welfare?

Experienced livestock professionals oversee the animals before, during, and after competition. Equipment, arena conditions, handling practices, and competition procedures are designed with the safety and well-being of both the animals and athletes in mind.

Are veterinarians or animal-care professionals on site?

Qualified livestock and animal-care professionals are available throughout the event to monitor the animals and respond if an animal requires attention.

How are bulls and horses selected for competition?

The livestock featured in the Extreme Rodeo are purpose-bred, trained, and conditioned athletes. Stock contractors select animals based on their health, athletic ability, temperament, and suitability for each event.

What safety measures are in place for both athletes and animals?

Professional rodeo personnel, including arena staff, livestock handlers, bullfighters, and medical personnel, work together throughout the event. The arena and competition procedures are carefully managed to help create the safest environment possible for both human and animal athletes.

Does bullfighting involve harming the bull?

No. Extreme Bullfighting is very different from traditional Spanish bullfighting. The objective is not to injure or kill the bull. Instead, athletes use speed, agility, and strategy to maneuver around the bull while being judged on their performance. The bull leaves the arena following the competition.

What happens to the animals after they compete?

After competing, animals are returned to designated livestock areas where they can rest, receive water, and be monitored by their handlers. Once their role in the event is complete, they return to the care of their stock contractors.
